Detailed description of the sample location:
Sudan, Khartoum Province, 18km N of the confluence of the White and Blue Niles,
6.5km E of the channel of the main Nile.
Environment description:
Low eroded mound of sand which rises ca 1.8m above flat bottom of the main Nile
valley floor. The Neolithic site; excavations were started in 1972 and resulted in
discovery of two settlements and burial grounds. Samples were coll from the northern
settlement and burial ground.
