Detailed description of the sample location:
Calowanie, south of Otwock, Warsaw district.
Environment description:
Late Paleolithic cultural layers at the edge of a dune at contact with a peat bog.
Calowanie is a key site for interdisciplinary studies of the Final Paleolithic in Poland.
It is located in the center of an abandoned channel of the Vistula River filled with thick
beds of peat and some sandy islands with traces of human occupation.
