Datowanie osadów geologicznych oraz ceramiki metodami luminescencyjnymi, w szczególności optycznie stymulowaną luminescencją (OSL); dozymetria powypadkowa; zastosowanie algorytmów adaptacyjnych (genetycznych, ewolucji różnicowej i innych) w zagadnieniach optymalizacyjnych.

Datowanie z wykorzystaniem OSL wykonywane jest dla materiałów nieorganicznych, w szczególności kwarcu i skaleni. Problematyka obejmuje udoskonalanie istniejących metod pomiaru jak i rozwijanie nowych. Istnieje wiele problemów naukowych wymagających rozwiązania w celu zwiększenia wiarygodności wyników datowania. Metoda ta nadaje się również do celów dozymetrii wypadkowej z wykorzystaniem ceramicznych obiektów codziennego użytku. Rozwój takich metod jest istotny w przypadku zajścia wypadków radiologicznych, w których nastąpiło znaczące skażenie środowiska.

Algorytmy adaptacyjne w zagadnieniach optymalizacyjnych są niezwykle efektywne w znajdowaniu globalnych ekstremów zadanej funkcji. Algorytmy te znajdują zastosowanie w coraz większej liczbie zagadnień naukowych i inżynierskich.
